Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor - 3rd Shift
Position Overview: A large food manufacturing company specializing in the frozen food industry is currently seeking a driven, motivated, and multi-faceted Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor. This role will be located in the greater Florence, KY area. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position will be on 3rd shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing processes, including raw materials, production, and shipping.
- Develop and maintain HACCP programs.
- Create and maintain specifications for raw materials and finished products. Approve raw materials through sampling and inspection.
- Collaborate on safety and discipline matters to ensure regulatory compliance. Promote safety awareness.
- Train employees on HACCP, GMPs, and other regulations, ensuring proper documentation.
- Conduct sanitation inspections and follow up on unsanitary conditions.
- Oversee raw ingredient programs, including sampling and testing, to ensure compliance.
- Follow up with suppliers and buyers on corrective actions. Ensure finished goods meet specifications.
- Assist in maintaining and auditing the Quality Management System.
- Supervise testing procedures and maintain systematic sampling of products.
- Keep records of tests and provide management with copies.
- Support new product development to meet quality standards.
- Address customer complaints and develop FSQ policies and procedures.
- Assist USDA inspectors with process deficiencies and other issues.
- Audit plant compliance with regulatory standards and report deviations. Supervise and train subordinates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in microbiology, food science, or related disciplines
- Minimum five years of related experience.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- HACCP Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of math, chemistry, statistical process control, and microbiology.
- Intermediate skill in electronic general ledger systems.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
