About the Job
As the Operational Manager, you will have full responsibility for all operational processes, including technical and depot activities in the EMEA region, infrastructure, and depot (vendor) pricing.
Responsibilities:
- Team and Infrastructure Management: Oversee the entire operational team, infrastructure, and setup.
- Depot Management: Manage the entire depot (vendor) infrastructure within the region, including pricing and negotiations.
- M&R Cycle Oversight: Oversee the complete Maintenance & Repair (M&R) cycle, ensuring turn times meet set goals and following up with depots.
- Depot Audits: Conduct audits within the region to ensure consistent quality of equipment and validate estimates and repairs.
- Market Feedback: Provide feedback to the Regional Salesperson on market conditions from depots.
- Process Quality: Ensure the quality of booking and redelivery processes across the region.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage customer/lessee dispute resolution as needed.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with depots to ensure priority service.
- Equipment Coordination: Coordinate equipment positioning with the logistics department as needed.
- Billing Discrepancies: Resolve billing discrepancies with customers and the Billing department, including depot self-billing issues.
- Operational Control: Oversee operational processes, internal instructions, and policies.
- Policy Implementation: Implement changes in policies and company directions, and troubleshoot issues.
- Team Development: Focus on team motivation, improvements, goal setting, and overall wellbeing.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in managing vendor relationships, ideally in the transportation, shipping, or container leasing industry.
- Regional Experience: Experience working with and managing multi-cultural teams and vendors in the Europe, Africa, and Middle East region.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record in negotiating large supplier contracts.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
