Position Overview: A leading molecular diagnostics testing laboratory dedicated to providing accurate and timely diagnostic services is currently seeking a driven, motivated, and multi-faceted Technical Supervisor. This role will be located in the greater Atlanta, GA area. The Technical Supervisor will play a critical role overseeing the daily operations of a PCR-based testing laboratory. This position will be on a night shift schedule (12am-10:30am Monday-Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the molecular diagnostics laboratory.
- Ensure all laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the training and development of laboratory staff.
- Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with other departments and external partners to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
- Stay current with advancements in molecular diagnostics and implement new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
- Prepare and review laboratory reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field with >4+ years of experience or Master's degree with >2+ years of experience or PhD degree with >1+ years of experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a molecular diagnostics laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of high complexity diagnostic techniques
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP) is preferred.
