Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team in Franklinton, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of construction materials, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Create and execute procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier performance.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Conduct cost analysis and develop budgets for procurement activities. Monitor and report on procurement performance against budget and targets.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and availability of construction materials. Provide insights and recommendations to the management team.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement of construction materials, including supply chain disruptions and price volatility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
