Role Overview: The Senior Process Engineer will design processes for direct reduction plants and other new technologies, supporting other engineers as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members and build consensus on assignments.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and mass/energy balances.
- Create and manage Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and equipment lists.
- Develop equipment duty specifications and perform process calculations.
- Lead projects, provide technical support, and ensure safety in process designs.
- Participate in and lead Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews.
- Support plant start-ups and troubleshooting.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Experience with chemical process simulators (e.g., Aspen Plus).
- PHA or HAZOP facilitator certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration preferred.
- Industrial plant experience.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years in a technical or industrial environment, ideally related to steel or direct reduction.
