A global pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced procurement leader to manage a high-value category of chemicals. This role drives strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost efficiency while ensuring high-quality and reliable supply for global production sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of globally dispersed category managers, overseeing an annual spend of €500 million
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supplier selection, cost management, and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align sourcing with business needs.
Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, applying best-in-class procurement practices.
Drive continuous improvement, leveraging industry trends and technological advancements.
Requirements:
Degree in Business, Science, or Engineering; procurement certifications (CIPS, ISM) preferred.
10+ years of procurement or technical project management experience, with global exposure.
Proven leadership in a matrix environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
Expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
Strong financial acumen and ability to develop compelling business cases.
Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 20% globally.
