Senior Design Engineer
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining engineered designs for assigned products, systems, or components to ensure competitiveness in terms of functionality, manufacturability, and market appeal.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide Staff Guidance and Training
- Supervise and provide guidance to other product design personnel to ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks
- Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of the product design team.
Senior Design Engineer Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain engineering designs for assigned products, systems, and components.
- Stay informed about industry trends and developments through vendor contacts, workshops, meetings, and divisional connections.
- Identify and apply new techniques, materials, and procedures that can enhance the design of assigned products.
- Collaborate with various departments (service, production, tooling, marketing, dealers, etc.) to complete assigned projects.
- Participate in the planning of product specifications, time lines, and resource requirements.
- Prepare and participate in engineering presentations for vendors, customers, and other departments.
- Direct and analyse the results of tests conducted on prototype and production machines.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Travel: Less than 10% travel required.
- Proficient in Creo Parametric or other computer-related engineering tools.
- Develop and mentor junior engineers.
- A clear understanding of customer needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills.
