Senior Business Development Manager - Europe
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager for Europe to join our client, a global market leader in the logistics industry. This role will play a critical part in driving growth across Europe, focusing on the expansion of contract logistics services and the acquisition of new clients in key markets. The preferred location for this position is Germany, with flexibility to work from other European countries.
About the Role:
As the Senior Business Development Manager - Europe, you will be responsible for building strong business relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the company's market presence across Europe. Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, focusing on developing a robust pipeline of opportunities for Contract Logistics (CL) across Europe.
Market Expansion: Drive business development initiatives in core markets, including Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK, Spain, Sweden, and others. Your focus will be on increasing market share and promoting the company's CL services.
Tender Management: Lead the tender process for various vertical markets, ensuring high-quality bids that align with customer needs and expectations.
Sales Targets: Achieve and exceed personal sales targets, playing an instrumental role in growing the company's CL portfolio within the region.
Cross-Selling & Synergy Development: Actively hunt for cross-selling opportunities and promote synergies between countries and business units.
Industry Networking: Increase brand awareness and visibility through participation in industry events, networking opportunities, and external sales channels.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in business development within the logistics or 3PL (third-party logistics) industry.
- A proven track record of winning contract logistics business and achieving sales targets across European markets.
- Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of the European contract logistics market, including key customers, competitors, and industry trends.
- Expertise in tender management and leading complex bids.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and sales skills with a proactive approach to client acquisition.
- Ability to create compelling commercial proposals and solutions, with sound financial understanding.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Team-oriented leader with the ability to build trust and foster internal and external relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience working in major European markets such as Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the UK.
- Knowledge of hybrid working environments and experience in expanding market presence at a regional level.
