The Senior Area Manager for Refinery is crucial for the safety, efficiency, quality, production, cost, staffing, and project management of our facility. You will become a technical expert and a leader who brings out the best in our people and technology.
Key Responsibilities: Senior Area Manager
- Ensure plant safety policies and procedures are followed, and safety issues are communicated and resolved promptly.
- Manage performance and development of department personnel, including technical training and career development.
- Adhere to operating model guidelines, oversee process improvements, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Own the area 5-year Capital Plan and Productivity Agenda, collaborating with various teams to prioritize projects.
- Understand and manage area costs, focusing on reducing excess consumption and cost reduction.
- Oversee area quality and production results, analyzing process data to address inefficiencies.
- Learn area processes to become a technical expert.
- Submit weekly area reports tracking safety, quality, production, costs, and project activity.
Required:
- Experience leading teams of process technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
- Excellent problem-solving, computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to build good relationships with internal peers, customer service, and sales.
- Management style consistent with a participative environment.
- Broad technical skills with 5-10 years of technical and plant experience.
- Continuous industrial processing experience.
- 4-year technical degree.
- Knowledge of corn wet milling and/or refinery processes.
- Broad industrial and technical knowledge.
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) systems is preferred but not required.
