Sanitation Manager

The Sanitation Manager will oversee and manage the sanitation department, ensuring that all processes meet USDA and HACCP standards. This role is critical in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment, which supports our commitment to quality and safety in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain sanitation programs and procedures in accordance with USDA and HACCP guidelines.
- Supervise and train sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
- Monitor sanitation schedules and ensure timely and thorough cleaning of all areas, including production and storage spaces.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address any sanitation-related issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance audits.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of sanitation-related incidents or non-compliance issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sanitation management.
- Coordinate with external auditors during inspections and assessments.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation processes and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitation management within a USDA-regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and implementation.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and GFSI standards.
- Experience as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
- Knowledge of chemical safety protocols and proper handling procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
