Sales Director (m/f/d)
Our client is a Global logistics provider specializing in air freight and ocean freight services. With a strong presence in APAC and a commitment to excellence, Thanks to the exponential growth and success they have had they are now expanding into Germany and seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director to drive growth in the region.
Position Overview:
As the Sales Director, you will be responsible for leading sales hunting efforts, developing new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth in the logistics sector. This role requires a deep understanding of both air freight and ocean freight, strong import and export capabilities, and the ability to build and nurture client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Hunting: Proactively identify and target potential clients in the logistics and shipping industry, including importers, exporters, and logistics managers.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer needs in Germany's logistics and freight market.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored logistics solutions.
- New Business Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new customers and expand the company's footprint in Germany, focusing on both air and ocean freight services.
- Import and Export Expertise: Utilize your strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade to guide clients through the logistics process.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and favorable outcomes.
- Sales Team Leadership: Build, lead and mentor a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets and objectives.
- Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals for the Germany market.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management, keeping them informed of progress and market developments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven track record of successful business development and sales hunting in the logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of air freight and ocean freight operations, import/export regulations, and international trade practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly changing business environment.
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
