Qualifications:
- Substantial management experience in a specialized chemical manufacturing industry or a related sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in domestic and international specialty chemical vendor sourcing, vendor certification, and terms & contract negotiation/administration.
- Previous involvement in budget management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in SAP, software applications, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.
Responsibilities:
- The role of the Procurement Manager involves overseeing raw material commodity strategies and ensuring suppliers adhere to high-performance standards.
- Responsible for supply assurance and obtaining the best overall value, while ensuring purchased materials meet quality, cost, delivery, and service level requirements.
- Collaborates closely with Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Facilities, providing leadership in problem-solving, price negotiations, cost containment strategies, and enhancing supplier relationships.
- Direct involvement in day-to-day procurement of specialty and industrial chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Possesses knowledge of chemical feedstocks, intermediates, competitive landscape, global supplier network, and relationships.
- Takes charge of problem-solving, sourcing, and ensuring supply assurance to maintain plant operations, including handling force majeures and allocations.
- Manages price negotiations, savings, avoidance strategies, and tactics, leveraging feedstocks, currency, volumes, and supplier escalation as needed.
- Identifies synergies to leverage combined spending across regions and businesses for savings in chemicals.
- Collaborates with Business to assess total cost of ownership, make recommendations, and implement customer change control.
