The Process Engineer will be a key contributor to maintaining and elevating our production capabilities, ensuring that process conditions are optimized and control systems are finely tuned to meet and exceed safety, quality, production, and cost goals. This dynamic role involves spearheading impactful process improvements and leading capital projects from conception to full operation, driving efficiency and innovation across the plant.
Core Responsibilities:
- Champion Safety, Health, and Environmental programs, fostering a stable and proactive workforce, eliminating preventable losses, and ensuring regulatory compliance in all manufacturing and product standards.
- Take ownership of project execution, overseeing budgets and timelines, leading construction efforts, training teams, and coordinating with QC/QA, safety, environmental, and maintenance groups-or play a key role on project teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
- Drive operational success by tracking and analyzing historical data, ensuring that key efficiencies align with design parameters to support Operations in meeting cost and production goals.
- Stay at the forefront of innovation by assessing new technologies, proposing impactful concepts, and securing approvals to enhance process efficiency, facility longevity, and product quality.
- Ensure robust support for plant quality and production by maintaining instrumentation, control systems, documentation, and validation (or PSM as required).
- Oversee systems, service contracts, and software licenses as needed to sustain overall instrumentation and control systems.
- Design, implement, and upgrade plant instrumentation/control systems, training maintenance, contractors, and staff on new changes or troubleshooting processes to reduce downtime.
- Lead control systems lifecycle planning, ensuring systems remain functional, adaptable, and cutting-edge as they approach obsolescence.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve plant automation and information systems, driving transformative improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience with 3+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, able to deliver complex technical insights to non-technical audiences and prepare concise, impactful reports.
- Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing actionable, results-oriented plans.
- Skilled in the design, planning, and execution of capital projects/permits, with a strong grasp of project management techniques and a commitment to delivering on design goals.
- Lean Six Sigma belt certification (or commitment to obtain certification).
- Proficient in data analytics with strong Excel skills.
- Experienced with Delta V or similar DCS platforms, Aspen IP.21 or other process data historians, and PLC programming.
- In-depth knowledge of measurement transmitter and control valve principles, applications, selection, specifications, and installation.
- Solid understanding of analog control theory, configuration, and tuning for optimal process control.
