JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The Procurement Specialist will oversee supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations. Experience with glass, wood, and other key commodities is essential. This role plays a critical part in cost optimization, risk mitigation, and maintaining an efficient supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage multiple suppliers and procurement strategies for assigned commodities, including glass and wood.
Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify and qualify potential suppliers.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable agreements.
Oversee supplier relationships and performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with business needs.
Monitor industry trends and market developments to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
Develop and implement cost control measures, change management protocols, and parts/service support strategies for procured goods and services.
Ensure the timely resolution of customer service tickets.
Conduct cost analysis and evaluate the impact of supplier pricing adjustments.
Manage LN part setup, PDR creation, and approved cost changes.
Oversee LN part updates, provide PMO/PLM support, and act as a liaison with OE engineering.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of the commercial truck/automotive market.
Experience in glass, wood, steel, and metals procurement.
Ability to conduct financial analysis, supplier selection, and approval processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Technical knowledge of the goods or services being procured.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a focus on glass, wood, and other key commodities.
