Job Summary
A leading company in the food manufacturing industry, known for top products in the convenience / grocery stores is looking for a skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team and lead efforts in maintaining equipment and facilities, ensuring safety, and driving efficiency in our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a supervisory team responsible for the maintenance of production, packaging, receiving, and shipping equipment, as well as facilities maintenance, including groundskeeping, building repairs, and utilities.
- Lead and direct the activities of planners and schedulers.
- Lead a large team of 50+ maintenance staff
- Manage requisitions for tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to established standards, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ensure maintenance schedules and repair estimates are aligned with project estimates.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Develop and adjust work procedures to meet repair schedules.
- Supervise planning and activities for new equipment installations.
- Organize and maintain critical departmental reports, including maintenance downtime, inventory levels, safety records, work order efficiency, and labor.
- Maintain compliance with work schedule and compliance records.
- Develop and maintain a proactive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and work order program.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA standards through scheduled work and maintenance programs.
- Maintain accurate equipment and safety records.
- Administer and manage department budgets in accordance with goals and objectives.
- Establish Personnel Management Agreements for both supervisory and team member levels.
- Create a skills assessment program to optimize individual strengths.
- Implement changes in working conditions and equipment usage to improve efficiency.
- Lead root cause analysis programs to address equipment failures.
- Ensure accurate maintenance records are kept in the company's Maintenance Management System (EAM & CMMS).
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of experience in maintenance within the food manufacturing industry
- Experience leading large maintenance teams of 50+
- Bachelor's degree (preferred in Engineering or a related field) and 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, PLCs, refrigeration, boilers, and facilities maintenance.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading maintenance teams.
- Flexibility to work on multiple shifts, including weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing maintenance operations across multiple locations.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment subject to FDA/USDA regulations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
