The Logistics & Transportation Manager oversees both operational and strategic activities within a designated area, managing teams of six or more. This role emphasizes performance management, talent development, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the flow of raw and finished goods, services, and information from the point of origin to the manufacturing site and ultimately to customers, ensuring customer and manufacturing needs are met.
- Oversee 3PL supplier contract management and transportation contract management.
- Ensure effective execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes, such as replenishment systems, data interchange systems, demand management, and electronic data systems.
- Ensure customer service and delivery time objectives are met while staying within financial constraints to achieve marketing and financial goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, addressing and resolving any delivery-related issues.
- Leverage market intelligence from internal operations, distribution, transportation, suppliers, and customers to improve the company's competitive position.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in selecting and managing 3PL providers.
- Solid background in transportation, logistics, warehousing, and related operations.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP, WMS, and TMS systems (experience with implementations is a plus).
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management software.
- Ability to collect and analyze financial and operational data, particularly related to inventory management.
- Experience driving performance improvements through the use of KPIs.

- Experience developing procedures, training materials, and safety/compliance manuals.
- Certifications in LEAN, Six Sigma, or ISO 13485 are advantageous.
