Job Title: Inventory Analyst
Overview:
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing supply chain data and recommending actionable strategies to improve inventory accuracy, availability, and turnover. This role involves optimizing material replenishment processes, evaluating demand patterns, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization's supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the ABC classification process and oversee daily cycle counting for inventory discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory variances, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions through Pareto analysis.
- Investigate systemic inventory issues using exception reports (e.g., negative inventory or usage variances).
- Monitor and guide the material picking process to ensure accurate issuance for work orders, sales orders, and outside processing.
- Assist in maintaining the PFEP (Plan for Every Part) database for optimal material management.
- Ensure accuracy in material transactions by maintaining item and location master data.
- Conduct data analytics to recommend configuration levels, option lead times, and component holding strategies.
- Evaluate and propose stocking levels for specific SKUs based on historical data and forecasts.
- Develop and update procedures for ERP transactions to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Maintain and report inventory KPIs, including location and dollar accuracy by ABC classifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in supply chain, planning, or operations.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of MRP logic, scheduling, order policies, BOM structures, and multi-plant planning.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Certifications:
- APICS affiliation or certification (preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
