Role Overview:
As the Group Procurement Manager - Indirect, you will be at the forefront of developing and driving the indirect procurement strategy with a focus on areas such as marketing services, IT, logistics, facilities management, and professional services. You will be responsible for building and enhancing the category management function, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring that procurement activities support the business's luxury positioning and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development:
- Lead the development and execution of the indirect procurement strategy, focusing on key categories such as marketing services, IT, facilities, and professional services.
- Collaborate with business leaders to align procurement strategies with broader company goals, ensuring the sourcing of high-quality services and products that align with our luxury brand values.
- Continuously analyze market trends and supplier landscapes to drive innovation and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and service providers across indirect categories.
- Lead negotiations for contracts, ensuring competitive pricing, high-quality service delivery, and alignment with the company's luxury standards.
- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, developing strategies to improve service levels, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement.
Cost Optimization & Budget Control:
- Develop and manage the indirect procurement budget, ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives and cost-saving targets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across indirect categories, ensuring that procurement activities deliver value while maintaining the quality and service standards expected in the luxury goods sector.
- Implement cost control measures without compromising the premium positioning and excellence associated with the company's brand.
Category Management & Process Improvement:
- Build and lead the category management function for indirect spend, creating robust processes for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
- Identify and implement best practices for category management, ensuring the continuous development and optimization of procurement processes.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding procurement opportunities and risks within the indirect spend categories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders in marketing, finance, operations, and other business units to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing procurement expertise and ensuring that procurement decisions align with the company's strategic goals and luxury brand identity.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver procurement solutions that enhance business performance and meet operational needs.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Monitor risks within the indirect procurement category, including supplier disruptions, compliance issues, and market volatility, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, internal policies, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement, ensuring that the company remains ahead of the curve.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, with a focus on indirect categories (e.g., marketing services, IT, professional services) in a global organization.
- Luxury Goods Experience: Proven experience working in the luxury goods, fashion, or premium sectors, with an understanding of the unique procurement requirements of luxury brands.
- Category Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of category management practices, with a track record of successfully managing indirect spend categories across global or complex organizations.
- Supplier Management: Expertise in supplier negotiation, relationship building, and contract management, with a focus on maintaining high service standards and quality.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial skills, including budget management, cost optimization, and driving value through procurement decisions.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) or MBA is a plus.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance, market trends, and data to inform decision-making.
