About the Role
As a Category Manager Logistics, you will be at the heart of a dynamic international procurement team, working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive cost efficiencies, optimise logistics solutions, and contribute to strategic decisions. You will be responsible for managing key logistics subcategories, ensuring the best possible terms with suppliers while working closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure alignment with global business objectives. Your focus will be on developing strategic sourcing plans for road, warehouse, and pallet purchasing, and leading negotiations to achieve competitive logistics solutions that align with the company's goals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: You will take ownership of logistics subcategories, driving negotiations, performance reviews, and ensuring supplier compliance with KPIs related to cost, quality, service, and innovation.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Engage with cross-functional teams and key suppliers to develop and implement effective logistics strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Cost Reduction & Risk Management: Lead initiatives to drive cost savings, mitigate risks, and develop new strategies for logistics service providers.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytical tools to generate insights from complex logistics databases, supporting decision-making and compliance tracking.
- Sustainability Focus: Champion responsible sourcing, sustainability initiatives, and long-term supplier relationships to ensure environmental and social impact is considered in every business decision.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, particularly in warehouse, road, and pallet services. Experience in large-scale procurement or international logistics is preferred.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex supply chain dynamics. Fluency in English is required, with German and Dutch as additional assets.
- Mindset: You are an entrepreneurial and results-oriented team player with the ability to think strategically and act tactically. You enjoy collaborating with diverse teams and have strong commercial acumen.
