A global leader in the chemical/mining industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Category Manager - CAPEX to join their dynamic team. This is a greenfield position with immense potential, created as a result of substantial funding received by the company. We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented professional with a strong background in CAPEX, either in services or components.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement the global CAPEX category strategy, aligned with the overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, trends, and best practices within the CAPEX industry.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide innovative sourcing solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance management and continuous improvement.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in CAPEX procurement, ideally experienced in managing large, complex, global projects
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing global category strategies.
- Solid understanding of sourcing processes, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages is beneficial but not essential.
- Strategic mindset and ability to think analytically, with a focus on driving cost optimization and process improvements.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, and other business-related activities.
