As we continue to scale and innovate, we are seeking a Global Category Leader for Electrical & Instrumentation to lead and drive strategic sourcing and procurement for our Electrical & Instrumentation category. Role Overview:
As the Global Category Leader for Electrical & Instrumentation, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing the global sourcing strategy for all electrical and instrumentation needs. This includes managing supplier relationships, leading contract negotiations, and ensuring that our procurement strategies align with our operational, sustainability, and financial goals. This role will be based in Amsterdam but will have a global scope, impacting key operations in various regions and business units.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development:
- Lead the development and execution of the global sourcing strategy for Electrical & Instrumentation, focusing on cost optimization, quality improvement, and supplier innovation.
- Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to align the category strategy with the company's overall objectives, including sustainability and digital transformation goals.
Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key global suppliers of electrical and instrumentation materials, equipment, and services.
- Drive supplier performance through regular reviews, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to ensure high quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Contract Negotiation & Procurement Excellence:
- Lead contract negotiations for the Electrical & Instrumentation category, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable terms, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Oversee supplier selection processes, ensuring that we are working with the best-in-class suppliers capable of supporting our global needs.
Cost Optimization & Budget Control:
- Develop and manage the global budget for Electrical & Instrumentation procurement, ensuring alignment with cost-saving initiatives and financial objectives.
- Continuously assess market trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved product quality, and operational efficiencies.
Sustainability & Innovation Leadership:
- Lead sustainability initiatives within the Electrical & Instrumentation category, identifying and implementing eco-friendly technologies, solutions, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to drive innovation in electrical and instrumentation products, ensuring we are at the forefront of emerging industry trends.
Global Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, finance, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of procurement strategies and operational requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional procurement teams, ensuring alignment with global category strategies.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Monitor risks within the Electrical & Instrumentation supply chain, including geopolitical, market, and supplier-related risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry certifications related to electrical and instrumentation products.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in category management, sourcing, or procurement, with a focus on Electrical & Instrumentation or related industries (e.g., manufacturing, energy, construction).
- Leadership: Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of managing global teams, driving cross-functional collaboration, and influencing senior leadership.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation technologies, supply chains, and global procurement trends.
- Negotiation Skills: Expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization strategies.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to develop and execute strategic procurement plans, analyze supplier performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or other relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are a plus.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to navigate complex procurement challenges.
