A global leader in freight forwarding, offering a wide range of logistics solutions including air, sea, and rail freight, as well as European land transportation and contract logistics is looking for a Forwarding Sales Representative to join their team in Frankfurt.
The Sales Representative is tasked with driving sales in Germany's forwarding sector, emphasising 90% "hunting" (acquisition) and 10% "agriculture" (account management). The role involves identifying new customers and providing tailored freight forwarding solutions to meet market needs in Germany and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Global Forwarding (60%)
- Portfolio Management: Develop and maintain a portfolio of regional, national, and global clients requiring freight forwarding solutions.
- Collaboration: Partner with local, national, and regional sales teams across the Group to maximise sales impact.
- Customer Engagement: Handle client-specific tasks such as tender support, implementation management, and SOP creation.
Business Development (30%)
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including targeting new clients, markets, and trends in logistics.
- Customer-Centric Planning: Analyse customer requirements and design solutions that address specific logistics needs.
- Contract Preparation: Negotiate contracts for strategic clients, coordinating efforts within the team for seamless execution.
Training and Development (10%)
- Continuous Learning: Participate in industry seminars, conferences, and internal training to stay updated and expand the company's knowledge base.
Job Requirements
- Required: Minimum of 3 years in the freight forwarding industry, specifically in active sales of freight forwarding services.
- Preferred: Over 5 years of experience, particularly with a focus on air and sea freight services.
- Strong ability to identify customer needs and sales challenges.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, proficient in networking and alliance building.
- Proven experience in freight forwarding, specifically in air and sea freight.
- In-depth knowledge of international logistics operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with strong communication and coordination skills.
- Language: Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
