An industry leading independent manufacturer of high-quality residential and commercial roofing products is seeking a talent individual to join their team as an EHS Coordinator at one of their key facilities.
This Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will contribute to on-site projects which will have a direct impact on the organization's growth. The candidate will play a critical role in leveraging their strong environmental background to coordinate activities in industrial plants or at environmental sites.
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate air, water, waste, and regulatory permits on-site; mentor staff on permit requirements.
- Develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies with application development staff.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies. (EPA, Kansas Department of Health and Environment)
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance.
- Perform EPA Method 9 emissions testing and maintain certification.
- Develop procedures to reduce emissions risks and maintain environmental control equipment.
- Serve as a certified Radiation Safety Officer.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for environmental control equipment.
- Advise on critical equipment repairs and process engineering.
- Advise General Manager on permits and compliance status.
The ideal Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or similar technical field preferred
- Waste water, Air, and Radiation Experience
- Auto-CAD preferred
- Interaction with EPA and State Departments
- Technical mindset but strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Needs to have tough skin, work collaboratively with team members and hold people accountable
