A top food & beverage company is looking to hire a dynamic transportation leader. You will have oversight of the activities and staff associated with Delivery. It oversees projects, budget, compliance, safety and security of the delivery department.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the daily work and safety of Delivery supervisors, routing personnel and other associates.
- Ensure that management staff is effectively managing the day to day delivery activities, including customer service, compliance, and adherence to planned routes.
- Assure Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensure that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
- Manage labor hours, travel, fuel, and consumable supplies within budget.
- Prepare work schedules, budget, profit plans, and capital requests as required.
- Evaluate metrics and adjust activities to meet or exceed performance expectations.
- Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with the implementation of delivery changes.
- Monitor the utilization of delivery services and coordinate back haul functions to increase profitability.
- Communicate with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery issues.
- Establish the use and updating of productivity and routing software systems.
- Preserve associate relations through regular meetings, interaction, communication, and feedback.
- Interpret, train and consistently enforce company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate efforts with the Safety department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 7 year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.
