Key Responsibilities:
- Execute engineering tasks related to electrical control systems for various projects and plant operations with minimal supervision.
- Develop and assess technical specifications for electrical equipment and process initiatives.
- Support the Corporate Electrical Team in reviewing and implementing company standards and guidelines.
- Aid manufacturing operations by enforcing electrical safety protocols and initiatives.
- Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed successfully and on schedule.
- Verify adherence to technical specifications and contractual obligations for equipment and services within plant maintenance and project activities.
- Maintain effective communication with management and stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and adjustments.
- Coordinate and supervise supplier and contractor work related to plant support and projects, including commissioning, start up, and staff training.
- Prepare bid request documentation, compile supplier lists, evaluate bids, and make purchasing recommendations.
- Oversee project budgets, time lines, scopes, and deliverables, ensuring the project meets organisational objectives.
- Manage external engineering resources and consultants as necessary to support project needs.
- Provide operational support to identify root causes of failures and develop corrective action strategies.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of electrical and controls experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering - required
- Experienced in heavy industrial environment (building materials, pulp/paper and chemicals - preferred)
- Proficiency with PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Solid knowledge of DCS (Experion, DeltaV, etc.) and instrumentation equipment
- Power distribution (13,800V, 4160V, 2300V - preferred)
