About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steel Commodity Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain of steel commodities, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery to meet our production needs. This role requires a deep understanding of the steel market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process for steel commodities, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on steel market trends, pricing, and availability.
- Cost Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs while ensuring quality and timely delivery of steel commodities.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for production needs.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to the supply chain and market fluctuations.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, market trends, and cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodity management, with a focus on steel or related industries.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the steel market, including pricing, trends, and supply chain dynamics.
- Certifications: Professional certifications in supply chain management or procurement are a plus.
