Job Summary: The Category Manager - CAPEX will be responsible for developing and executing strategic procurement strategies for capital expenditure projects. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of equipment, machinery, and other capital assets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CAPEX procurement, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for CAPEX projects, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers through comprehensive market research and supplier assessments.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure optimal value and quality.
- Manage and develop strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform and adapt procurement strategies.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the CAPEX procurement function.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on procurement performance, savings, and key metrics to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to drive efficiency and innovation in capital projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAPEX procurement or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of capital expenditure procurement, market dynamics, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
