As the Asia-Pacific Procurement (Senior) Director you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement activities within an organization. This role involves developing strategic plans for procurement, leading the procurement team, and ensuring alignment with global and local supply chain strategies. Key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, optimizing spend, and ensuring compliance with ESG requirements.
The role can be based in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia or Shanghai.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
- Develop Procurement plan covering business needs, market trends, and project pipelines.
- Lead the APAC procurement team.
- Align with global category teams to leverage the preferred supply base.
- Collaborate with supply chain, finance, and R&D to implement agreements and improve service levels.
- Manage delivery, P&L impact tracking, and payment terms.
- Drive local sourcing events.
- Contribute to budget processes and target-setting.
- Deliver financial value through P&L impact and working capital improvement.
- Ensure ESG compliance with local suppliers.
- Provide input for global improvements.
- Align value tracking between global categories and local business.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant degree/professional qualification with substantial managerial experience.
- Knowledge of Procurement systems/services and their interrelations.
- Understanding of Procurement principles and broader developments.
- Experience in innovative solutions and strategic planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills for negotiating and influencing senior management.
- Understanding of regulations and legislation.
