The Area Manager for Refinery is crucial for the safety, efficiency, quality, production, cost, staffing, and project management of our facility. You will become a technical expert and a leader who brings out the best in our people and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure plant safety policies and procedures are followed, and safety issues are communicated and resolved promptly.
- Oversee daily operations, including quality and production results, and analyze process data to address inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and other resources to resolve safety, quality, or production issues.
- Adhere to operating model guidelines and drive engagement at board meetings, ensuring countermeasures for operational issues.
- Implement Work Place Organization (WPO) and improve GMP performance, including compliance, leak reduction, and sanitation.
- Manage performance and development of department personnel, including technical training and career development.
- Understand and manage area costs, focusing on reducing excess consumption and cost reduction.
- Learn area processes to become a technical expert.
- Submit weekly summaries of achievements and challenges for the plant newsletter.
Required:
- Experience leading teams of process technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
- Knowledge of corn wet milling and/or refinery processes.
- Management style consistent with a participative environment.
- Broad technical skills with 3-5 years of technical and plant experience.
- Continuous industrial processing experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with Process Safety Management systems is preferred but not required.
- 4 year technical degree preferred.
